ORGANIZATION
Reports to:
Operations Environmental Manager (Functional) & Operations Local HSSE Manager (Matrix).
Supervises:
Environmental Engineer(s), Sustainability Lead(s).
Liaises with:
Operations Management in Region, Client Sustainability, External Regional stakeholders e.g. country regulatory authorities, Departments (Assets Integrity, HSSE, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Legal).
Is based in Porto.
RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS
The incumbent is part of the SBM Operations organization and is responsible for Environmental Management. His/her main responsibilities are to:
Global Role
- With the ability to identify resources, Manage and supervise the execution of Environmental Sustainability projects and initiatives as applicable including (but not limited to) emission reduction and waste reduction initiatives;
- Contribute to improving emissions monitoring and measurement (existing operational fleet and future projects);
- Interact with Project (design), Operations Readiness, proposal, framing ect…) to share Operations experience and requirements for ongoing and future projects;
- Contribute to environmental data reporting at different levels including monthly Operations reporting and as applicable annual external reporting and CSRD framework;
- Ensure environmental data quality and that dashboard information is accurate and up to date;
- Supervise / animate Emissions Focal Points network;
- Contribute to setting environmental targets in line with Company and Operations objectives;
- Engage with Supply chain and other departments as appropriate with regards to environmental related initiatives;
- Identify Regional & local sustainability initiatives and submit them for review and approval to local and discipline management line management;
- Contribute to ensure that relevant processes and procedures are in place to support environmental management;
- Ensure proper communication across the organisation;
- Work across the various local SBM departments and projects’ organizations, in order to ensure work is executed in compliance with the Operations and Company Sustainability Development strategy and Goals (SDG);
- Expose as applicable Sustainable development initiatives to Client and Partner and manage their implementation to the satisfaction of all parties;
- Represent the Company in forums, exhibitions and can inform potential clients on products, performances and objectives.
Local Role
- Understand, discuss with country manager and reports on the country development strategy and areas where basic needs could match Company’s sustainability objectives;
- Monitor Local sustainability projects’ opportunities;
- Lobby SBM Offshore ethic among client and sub-contractors organizations;
- Present material to describe SBM Offshore global sustainability goals and local project’s objectives to local stakeholders and NGOs;
- Identifies local NGOs which could help unlocking projects relative to sustainability objectives;
- Trains local SBM Offshore employees and sub-contractors to the basics of Company sustainability goals;
- Manages local external parties involved in the execution of sustainability projects;
- Highlights opportunities to develop a positive image of the Company in the region;
- Participates to the regional Business development meetings;
- She/He produces reports reflecting the business activity and prospects in the region:
- Manage internal and external communication with stakeholders according communication plan;
- Promotes Environmental Sustainability culture across the fleet (Focus on Region 2: Angola, EG, Malaysia, Guyana);
- Identifies environmental sustainability initiatives in region 2 countries and ensure proper organization is in place for their execution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Minimum MS degree preferably in a technical discipline supplemented by a qualification in Project Management.
- A degree in Sustainability with an approach to:
- Environmental Management;
- Energy Transition would be a plus.
EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL OBJECTIVE
- Proven work experience in project management;
- Familiarity with or interest for Sustainability related topics such as environmental management Activities, Green House Gas emission Measurement and Reduction, CSR initiatives in emerging countries (Environmental & social Impact Assessment).
PERSONAL SKILLS
- Excellent communication and leadership skills;
- Creative & Dynamic;
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively;
- Ability to present and lobby new concepts as well as Company Services and objectives;
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports;
- Strong Compliance business ethic.
