Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Data Architecture team within the Operations Solutions Department that will manage a team of Ops Data Architects.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and managing complex data architectures (mainly on Time Series Data (PI)) ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability for future growth; driving data pipelining and ingestion, data transformation and support related to it change management.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing the Operations Data model in collaboration with the other internal stakeholders. In addition, you will manage the Run Support Model of our Digital Operations Solutions using PI (Time series data) and SEEQ leveraging internal and external competencies.
As a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, you will oversee complex data solutions while leading and mentoring a geographically distributed team of data architects. You will lead a diverse team, manage data quality initiatives, and ensure our data architecture is scalable, secure, and cutting-edge. This role involves hands-on technical leadership, team management, and close collaboration with cross-functional internal teams (IT&S, Operations Functions & Smart Services), as well as external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture Design & Development:
- Strong knowledge and experience with implementation of Microsoft tech stack & Time series data (Such as : PI ex-OSISOFT)
- Design and implement complex, scalable data architectures that meet business needs. Develop and maintain data models and database designs, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and future growth.
- Architect and develop integrated data quality applications from the ground up using modern technology stacks.
- Develop and maintain robust data models, database designs, and ETL processes while ensuring data quality and security across all solutions.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, supporting both batch and streaming data architectures.
- Data Quality & Security: Collaborate with Data Governance, Master Data Management and Cyber Security Teams to establish and enforce best practices for data governance, ensuring high data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Data Pipeline Management:
- Design, implement and deliver data ingestion and transformation to enable easy data consumption by the business and reduce time-to-consume by implementing efficient tech data solutions.
- Data Product Management & Lifecycle Oversight:
- Support overseeing end-to-end lifecycle data management from project win, execution, and operation to decommissioning.
- Execute strategy and own KPIs for assigned data products, working with business and consumer teams to ensure the success of the data product line.
- Drive automation of strategic reporting and support the data platform creation to meet internal and external client demands.
- Ensure creation and maintain documentation for data architecture, data lifecycle processes, and data solutions.
- Ownership of data delivery activities for Digital Operations Solutions using PI, time series data and others.
- Innovation & Technical Leadership:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, data governance standards, and emerging technologies emerging technologies in data architecture, cloud computing, and big data to ensure the data architecture is scalable and cutting-edge.
- Participate in technical and data reviews and participate in defining technical solutions and architecture improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and support advanced data integration, lifecycle data standardization, data migration and data transformation projects.
- Run & Maintenance support:
- Manage the Run and support model of PI, SEEQ applications leveraging internal and external resources.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with the key leads within Information Technology organisation, and various business units to ensure data architecture supports product lifecycle management and reporting automation efforts.
- Work closely with data governance, master data management, data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, product and data owners, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure data architecture aligns with business objectives and enhances decision-making processes.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a global team of data engineers, architects, and developers, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth.
- Mentor team members on best practices in software engineering, data quality, product evaluation, and technical design.
- Provide guidance, and career development opportunities to team members.
- Conduct performance reviews, track team effectiveness, and collect operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Job requirements:
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, and database design, data modeling, with expertise in both Time Series Data and PI OSISOFT.
- Significant experience in data modeling.
- Familiarity with data quality tools and modern tech stacks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, AngularJS, ElasticSearch).
- Strong expertise in on-prem and cloud-based data technologies and big data platforms.
- Leadership experience, with a track record of managing and mentoring technical teams across multiple locations and coming from different cultural backgrounds.
- Proven track record of driving large-scale data initiatives.
- Proficient in data governance, data quality management, and data security best practices.
- Understanding and driving outcomes and value-based data activities.
- Experience with data lifecycle management, including data standardization, observability, and auditing.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Microstrategy, Tableau.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies is a plus.
- Fluency in English is a must.
Desirable Certifications:
- PI and other time series data certification are highly desirable.
- MS Azure, DevOps, or data architecture-related certifications are highly desirable.
