Job description

The IT Network Specialist is part of a global Network Specialist team that is responsible for ensuring the

effectiveness and stability of SBM’s IT Network solutions. This team provides technical expertise to

troubleshoot issues, monitor the network landscape, proactively seek improvements of SBM’s network

both locally and globally, and work with IT Project Managers to implement new solutions when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS

In order to support, govern and contribute to a fully integrated and aligned IT Strategy across the SBM organization, you are to:

• Troubleshoot network incidents and risks opening a support ticket if necessary
• Assist or seek assistance from the other Network Specialists or Network Architect.
• Manage network incidents according to Incident Management Processes
• In the event of an incident, investigate for and produce a Root Cause Analysis.
• Implementation of new network systems as needed for new locations or lifecycle actions
• Explore for areas of improvements within SBM Offshore’s IT network landscape and propose
• solutions together with IT Enterprise Architect team.
• Execute the processes and best practices necessary to work according to the direction and
• Strategy of Group IT&S, making suggestions for improvement where required.
• Maintain all network related documentation and working instruction in the central repository.
• Ensure quality and accurate information of network assets in the CMDB.
• Interface and support the Security, Software and System teams in solving cross-discipline
• complex problems that involves the network disciplines.
• Participate in providing process and configuration evidence for security and ICOSIT audits.
• Monitor network systems for outages, utilization thresholds and lifecycle to take proactive
• actions.

• Keep the IT community informed on any new initiatives and decisions taken that might have an
• impact on day-to-day business.
• Participate in project implementation and create the documentation.
• Ensure a cross functional alignment to minimize down-time within the overall IT landscape.

In order to ensure that you understand and manage your stakeholders and their requirements as well as

having assigned activities completed successfully, you are to:

• Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy to meet stakeholders’ needs in a
• timely manner.
• Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify as necessary with stakeholders.
• Complete every task in compliance with applicable policies, standards and work procedures.
• Identify areas for potential risks and proactively communicate with stakeholders to resolve.
• Share information and provide guidance as required.
• Actively seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise for alternative solutions.
• Perform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders.
• Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and be able to adjust.
• Produce consistent and organized documentation in a well-structured format to convey
• required information to stakeholders.

Job requirements:

Specific skills / expertise / product:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in network role.
• Be familiar with on-premise and cloud environment.
• Must possess some relevant network related certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, F5

• Certified Administrator or Certified Technical Specialist, Azure Network Engineer
• Must possess hands-on and advanced technical experience in a minimum of 3 areas – Azure
• Network, Cisco Switching, Cisco Routing, Cisco FTD Firewalls, Network Security, SDWAN, security
• Possess the following technical hands-on experience will be added advantage – VSAT, F5 BigIP,
• Riverbed, Cisco ISE, Cisco Secure IPS, CIS Security Controls, Zero Trust
• Proactive, energetic, independent, self-motivated and able to manage complexity;
• Able to travel overseas when required;
• Required to work after office hours or on weekends when necessary;
