Job Description: 

As a Piping Designer, you work closely with Engineers and other Designers to accurately interpret the engineering design and ensure the design is accurately captured in the 2D/3D design software. You are responsible for ensuring the design/layout produces fit for purpose results in a constructible and organized drawing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Lead, engineers to develop concepts/Conceptual studies, Equipment Layouts/ Safety & Escape Route Layouts for piping designs effectively meet project requirements.
  • Modelling of Equipment & Pipe routings in accordance with P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and stress requirements using PDMS.
  • Extraction/Preparation of Equipment layout drawings, Piping GAD’s, Pipe Support GAD’S, Safety layouts, Special Pipe Supports.
  • Modelling of Pipe support in MDS in line with industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Extraction and annotation of Isometrics and supports drawings from 3D PDMS Model.
  • Review of Vendor drawings and implement in design.
  • Perform Clash checks, Data Consistency checks prior to issuance of AFC deliverables.
  • Co-ordinate with Inter-disciplines in timely manner to avoid rework for finalizing the Piping design.
  • Prepare MTO’s-Piping Bulk, Insulation & Pipe Support.
  • Plan and deliver assigned tasks accurately within the agreed time frame.
  • Prioritize activities and effectively manage conflicting deadlines ensuring continued progress to meet the schedule. Proactively provide Lead Designer with status updates.
  • Good knowledge on international codes & standards.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Academic          : BE/BTech/ Diploma in Mechanical engineering
  • Exp                    : 5- 10 years relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry     Wellhead/Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO TS & Turret Exp is preferred.
  • SW or tools       : PDMS, E3D (Design & Draft) & MDS, AutoCAD
