The Cost Controller acts as a business partner for the assigned remit, accountable for your stakeholders to achieve business objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting and compliance with laws, regulations and standards.

You are to give expert advice, offering insights, ideas and recommendations on topics that impact the business, whilst ensuring that the key messages of your expertise area are understood and followed.

You align your work to SBM’s and the relevant expertise area strategy, by proactively planning and completing activity, with accuracy and on-time deliverables.

You ensure a strong focus on and alignment with SBM’s Values.

 

Job description:

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and update them regularly based on actual performance and changing business conditions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather input for budget and forecast preparation.

 

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget and forecast.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency.

 

Strategic Planning Support:

  • Support long-term strategic planning by creating financial models and scenarios.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.

 

Reporting and Presentation:

  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Summarize complex financial information into clear and concise insights.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to support decision-making.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement improvements to financial planning processes and tools.
  • Automate and streamline reporting and analysis where possible.

 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with accounting, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals.
  • Act as a financial advisor to business units, providing guidance on cost control and resource allocation

 

Invoicing:

  • Ensure that all timesheet bookings of the business are complete to ensure 90% of the employees have completed their monthly time sheet booking
  • Make sure that monthly cost+ plus Invoices are verified and issued
  • Also ensure any back chargeables are billed back subsidiaries.

 

Job requirements:

Academic :          Post Graduation in cost accounting/Management accounting is must (i.e ICWA, CMA or any equivalent)

  • Exp:                   10 years in Reporting Specialist / Cost Control experience especially in a MNC environment
