Job Description:

As a Structural Lead Engineer, you are responsible for the delivery of your assigned project scope and associated technical solution, in accordance with SBM management system and Standards and Client requirements. Coordinate a team of Engineers and Designers to deliver cost-effective and competitive solutions for structural Topside discipline project scope ,by ensuring project execution on schedule, budget, and quality standards. You are accountable to the respective areas EPM and overall EPM where relevant for the Discipline scope performance. The DLE may act as a Discipline Engineer for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities/ Role Contribution:

• Lead the structural design and analysis of offshore topsides structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards (API, AISC, ISO, DNV, ABS, etc.).
• Develop and oversee engineering calculations, structural models, and detailed design deliverables.
• Work closely with project stakeholders and other engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet project or department needs
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of structural engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with other disciplines (process, piping, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of topsides systems.
• Conduct structural integrity assessments Inservice, load-out, transportation, lifting, and installation analysis.
• Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Engage with clients, classification societies, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to structural engineering.
• Support construction, fabrication, and offshore installation activities, including responding to site queries.
• Take ownership to define and develop Discipline scope by understanding and evaluating the project requirements
• Identify dependencies and obtain alignment with project stakeholders to ensure safety and quality are not sacrificed in the effort to meet project schedule
• Collaborate with the Discipline Manager and Engineering Project Manager to accurately forecast manhours, resource needs, and completion date for deliverables
• Assign project tasks to team members and provide coaching and guidance as needed to team members; partner with Discipline Manager for mentoring staff as needed
• Promote a positive work environment to keep a high level of employee engagement 
• Ensure proper communication with internal/external clients to ensure all parties are promptly informed of project developments

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree (Preferably) in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in offshore structural engineering, with at least 5 years in offshore topsides design.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SESAM, SACS, STAAD.Pro, FEMAP, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of offshore design codes and standards.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and fatigue analysis.
• Knowledge of fabrication, construction, and installation methodologies for offshore structures.
