Background
- The Assistant Storekeeper will ensure that stores, materials and stock are available, easily and accurately identified and that actual stock amounts reflect the records kept. They will liaise fully with the Storekeeper where stock movement is concerned. They will always use safe handling procedures and ensure stocks are secured to prevent damage injury or loss.
Authority
- The Assistant Storekeeper is authorized to ensure stock is identified accurately, stored, moved and distributed according to procedures.

Accountable For: Responsibilities & Standards
- 1) Establish and Maintain Effective Working Relationships
- 1 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team, colleagues, supply boat personnel, crane drivers, and visitors to the working environment.
- 2 Carry out accurate and effective handovers.
- 3 Communicate and report accurately and clearly according to procedures.
- 2) Control and Maintain Stock Levels Effectively
- 1 Assist where required to maintain accurate and transparent records using Computerized Stock Control System.
- 2 Receive stock and check off accurately against manifests and Purchase Orders/Requisitions.
- 3 Assist when required to carry out accurate and regular stock audits.
- 4 Alert Storekeeper to minimum stock levels.
- 5 Liaise with relevant departments to ensure effective provision of equipment and materials where and when required.
- 6 Ensure equipment and materials are clearly and correctly identified and stored in correct locations.
- 7 Alert Storekeeper to ensure certification requirements of equipment and materials e.g., PSVs are current.
- 8 Perform continuous appraisal of equipment and materials requirements through liaison with the Storekeeper.
- 3) Maintain Stock Security and Safety
- 1 Maintain security of equipment storage areas and control access to storage areas and stock.
- 2 Maintain all equipment and stock storage areas in clean and tidy condition preventing accumulation of debris.
- 3 Issue equipment from equipment storage areas and store stock and equipment appropriately.
- 4) Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures
- 1 Unplanned discharges to the environment are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure and regulation.
- 2 Relevant PPE is used to deal with unplanned discharges using company procedures.
- 3 Equipment, waste or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure.
- 4 Environmental protection and pollution control are enforced effectively with colleagues, subordinates and subcontractors.
- 5) Emergency Response
- 1 Carry Out Emergency Response role (See Station Bill).
- 2 Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.
Recruitment Only-Generic Functional Competencies
Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience
- 3 years’ experience in the Marine or Petroleum Industry with 1 year in a technical discipline with FPSO exposure preferred.
- Experienced with materials inventory control systems.
- Basic understanding of materials, purchasing and stock management procedures.
- Qualified to trade or technician level in a technical discipline.
- Working Knowledge of CMMS.
- Medically fit according to The Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore..
