In this program you will rotate between various departments, projects, and locations to become fully indoctrinated in SBM’s business. DETAILS OF THE PROGRAMME
The Graduate Engineer Program is meant to provide recently graduated Engineers with the foundational knowledge they need to begin and accelerate their careers in the oil and gas industry.
To achieve this, successful candidates will be rotated amongst various departments to learn the key processes and procedures that enable SBM Offshore to efficiently support our projects and operations.
Incumbents will be assigned to one or more of our SBM Offshore International Locations to gain exposure to SBM’s different lines of business and to achieve a broad view of how Execution Centers work collaboratively on a global level to support our clients.
During the 18-month in-dept programme, candidates will be assessed to fully determine the area (s) suitable for their skills, knowledge, background, aptitude, exposure and passion.
Final placement (Permanent positions) will be in the Guyana Operations, supporting the designated department / vessel.
Role Purpose
The Fabric Maintenance Engineer is highly specialized and involves the maintenance and management of fabric-based structures specific to the maritime and offshore oil and gas industry.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Have total control of the Interplan dashboard and send the ‘Tasks’ from the web version to the offshore iPad.
- Monitor all aspects of the coating application. Follow-up and apply ITP for the coating execution offshore, as well as highlight all ‘Witness’ and ‘Hold’ points to the execution team onboard.
- Liaise with the Shorebase and painting vendors to monitor all stocks onboard and in painting storage facility. (Import times to Guyana are as long as 8 weeks, so this needs very careful management to avoid being out of stock products, resulting in downtime and non-performance).
- Follow, suggest, and continuously improve the monthly Fabric Maintenance KPIs.
- Direct the Painting Contractor daily where they need to paint and even make them contribute effectively during bad weather periods.
- Oversee the Interplan 3D version (when it comes alive) by conducting ‘walk the line’ surveys to look for mechanical anomalies.
- Have total autonomy and engagement in the use of the 3D Interplan.
- Accountable for structural inspection, provide action plan, lead the replacement, actions follow up as handrail, stair steps, ground floor, supports and others.
- Interface with offshore team leadership to align the priorities within a 3 monthly look-ahead.
- Become a focal point in between 3rd part painters, coating manufacturers/distributor, onshore and offshore.
- Comply and steward the painting team with the targeted square meters established per month.
- Lead offshore painters.
Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree, but preference for Mechanical/Civil Engineer Degree
- No experience is required, however desirable knowledge on coating products and chemical compositions of it can be a differential factor.
- Basic Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF and others
- Good written and spoken English (with clear communication required)
