We are seeking recently Graduated Engineers to join our Graduate Engineer Program. In this program you will rotate between various departments, projects, and locations to become fully indoctrinated in SBM’s business. With this well-developed base of knowledge, you will be well on your way towards your chosen career path as an Engineer within the SBM Group.
DETAILS OF THE PROGRAMME
The Graduate Engineer Program is meant to provide recently graduated Engineers with the foundational knowledge they need to begin and accelerate their careers in the oil and gas industry.
To achieve this, successful candidates will be rotated amongst various departments to learn the key processes and procedures that enable SBM Offshore to efficiently support our projects and operations.
Incumbents will be assigned to one or more of our SBM Offshore International Locations to gain exposure to SBM’s different lines of business and to achieve a broad view of how Execution Centers work collaboratively on a global level to support our clients.
During the 18-month in-dept programme, candidates will be assessed to fully determine the area(s) suitable for their skills, knowledge, background, aptitude, exposure and passion.
Final placement (Permanent positions) will be in the Guyana Operations, supporting the designated department / vessel.
Role Purpose:
The Graduate Operations Engineer ensures the smooth functioning of an operating facility systems, networks, and infrastructure.
Core Functions:
- Ensure safety, integrity, and performance of the operating facility.
- Coordinate efficiently between the asset group, the offshore facility, the engineering support group, vendors, and the client.
- Provide expertise to solve technical & organizational issues.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by coordinating with regulatory team on matters related to class issues, local regulations and flag.
- Assume the position of Emergency responder for major incidents.
- Manage continuous improvement and optimization of the business tool.
- Analyze technical and financial data to be able to propose improvements.
- Coordinate together with different teams to ensure implementation of optimization initiatives
- Follow up with a 90-day annual operations plan and three year Operations Plan
- Report daily to the management team.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Engineering Degree, but preference for Mechanical/Civil/Chemical Engineer Degree
- Ability to analyze technical and financial data.
- Coordination skills for different scenarios with people from different nationalities and backgrounds
- Familiarity with processes and workflows. Some understanding of Maintenance systems and philosophies.
- Effective communication with other teams and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and business requirements.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational improvements.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday to Friday, office hours, with potential overtime, depending on operations demands
- Office located in Georgetown and other international locations (as assigned)
