We are seeking recently Graduated Engineers to join our Graduate Engineer Program. In this program you will rotate between various departments, projects, and locations to become fully indoctrinated in SBM’s business.  With this well-developed base of knowledge, you will be well on your way towards your chosen career path as an Engineer within the SBM Group.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAMME

 

The Graduate Engineer Program is meant to provide recently graduated Engineers with the foundational knowledge they need to begin and accelerate their careers in the oil and gas industry. 

To achieve this, successful candidates will be rotated amongst various departments to learn the key processes and procedures that enable SBM Offshore to efficiently support our projects and operations.

Incumbents will be assigned to one or more of our SBM Offshore International Locations to gain exposure to SBM’s different lines of business and to achieve a broad view of how Execution Centers work collaboratively on a global level to support our clients. 

During the 18-month in-dept programme, candidates will be assessed to fully determine the area(s) suitable for their skills, knowledge, background, aptitude, exposure and passion. 

Final placement (Permanent positions) will be in the Guyana Operations, supporting the designated department / vessel.

 

 

Role Purpose:

 

To ensure that piping and static equipment on the Company Marine Units are prepared and maintained in a good and reliable condition by the most economical combination of investment and maintenance throughout the projected lifetime, considering specific site and contract conditions.

 

 

 

Core Functions:

  • Assist in preparation of RBI inspection plan and follow up the actual status.
  • Prepare piping, static equipment and coating inspection plan for SBM leased unit.
  • Verify that inspections and maintenance are done accordingly to Inspection plan, analyze trends in deteriorating conditions and advise remedial actions as necessary.
  • Preparation of repair specifications and follow-up repairs. Maintain register of typical repair procedures, including those qualifying as ‘temporary’.
  • Maintain up-to-date databases Piping and Pressure Vessels and work with Strategy team to improve functionality. Highlight corrosion trends, re-occurring damages, etc.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and KPI’s concerning the integrity discipline.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of criteria developed for condition assessment and projected service life of piping and static of SBM leased units. Report shortcomings and manage updating of criteria.
  • Ensure that generally applicable lessons learned are shared in the Corporate Engineering Standards based on the GEMS LL template and guidance.
  • Verify that refurbishment on piping is done as specified and in line with Company Policy.
  • Assist in preparation of responses to offshore queries relevant to the discipline.
  • Assist in technical decisions regards to Piping and Pressure Vessel
  • Be familiar with Class requirements for continuous and special survey regimes or schemes.
  • Be flexible to have offshore visits.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Discipline.
