This position reports to: The International Mobility Outbound Leader

 

 

Role Purpose:

 

The International Mobility Functional Support Specialist is responsible for assisting employees, management, the local Human Resources team and external stakeholders by providing administrative and immigration support for all international mobility related matters.

 

The incumbent will be responsible for handling movements of employees mobilizing to Guyana, including transfers to and from global projects. Responsible for administration services to employees prior to their assignment and while they are assigned on site.

With expertise in expatriation, visa and immigration, the IMS will provide hands-on and accurate assistance within SBM Offshore dynamic environment.

 

Core Functions:

  • Analyze visa requirements and, in conjunction with the Immigration Offices (IND), optimize the choice of applicable visas according to SBM’s work force needs.

 

  • Review the completeness and accuracy of various forms and supporting documents that an applicant is required to present at the consulate during his/her immigrant visa interview.

 

  • Provide guidance to employees and business on the Visa requirements, status and compliance matters. Follow up with assignees and all third parties(vendors) involved in the process.

 

 

 

 

  • Assess the business needs and provide advice on the best assignment type, in line with rules and regulation.

 

  • Ensure proper mobilization/demobilization of employee.
  • Provide administration services for employees before and during their assignment.

 

  • Reviewing new regulations in the field of International Mobility to keep compliance within the specific field of expertise.

 

  • Coordination of logistics activities, including documentation and shipping processes, Airport transfers, orientation tours, business trips, assignment of temporary and permanent accommodations during varying mobilization stages.

 

  • Organizing and facilitating house hunting activities (serving as the link between landlord and assignees, managing inventory for selected properties, organizing security evaluations, etc., whilst providing guidance and assistance on local specificities.

 

  • Management of cost and budgetary allocations pertinent to IMS activities (housing, schooling, transportation etc.)

 

  • Tax residency control - Control assignees' residency as per local rules, together with the Tax Provider and take proper actions when required (control of tax payment, tax meeting with provider, assignees' doubts.

 

  • Supporting HR processes, documentation and controls, including updating necessary HRIS Systems and performing proper record keeping activities.

 

  • Ensure activities are completed with consistency and in compliance with work requirements, applicable employment laws & regulations and applicable policies, codes, standards, regulations and industry practices.

 

  • Proactively highlight concerns as they arise, and (re)prioritize assigned activities to meet key milestones.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax/ Law/ Human Resources/Business Administration, or equivalent experience with Human Resources, Immigration, International Mobility.
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience within International Mobility and/or Business Immigration in a corporate environment. Large multinational organization experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of tax and legal rules applicable to internally mobile employee
  • Experience working in a global team across time zones, preferred.
  • Knowledge of actual regulation in the field of International Mobility
