Material Controller

SBM Offshore is a world leader in floating production solutions.  Our main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.  We employ over 7,073 people spread across eight locations, nine operational shore bases and the offshore fleet of vessels worldwide.

Through our local affiliate, Guyana Deep Water Operations Inc. (GDO), we are the Operator of the LIZA Destiny, LIZA Unity and Prosperity Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessels (FPSOs).

We are looking for a Material Controller to work onshore at our Georgetown shore base.

• ROLE PURPOSE:

The Material Controller is responsible for local control of all materials and equipment received from/sent to the FPSOs and Shore Bases in accordance with SBM Offshore’s /client’s policies and procedures.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

Perform Quality Inspection on defined critical items:

submit inspection report

• Update information in AMOS
• Update information on Inspection Register
• Material control (when moved to quarantine due a NC)

Certificates check on received items

Documents receipt check

Support at warehouse

Interface to Operations/Technical Teams and Procurement Teams when required

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Engineering Degree, but preference for Mechanical or Electrical.
• Minimum of Five (5) Years proven experience working in Oil & Gas Industry in inspection, construction or fabrication.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Very good command of word processing, spreadsheets and databases (Microsoft

Suite)

• Good written and spoken English (with clear communication required)
