Background

  • The Offshore Facilities Engineer will exhibit exemplary leadership, managerial and safety behaviours and will specifically ensure all aspect of production activity are conducted effectively and efficiently. The position will suit personnel Onshore hydrocarbon process operations & management of change background

Authority

  • The Offshore Facilities Engineer assumes responsibility for safety of the crew and vessel is concerned, also with operational aspect of production activities.

  • Visitors, Vendor Technicians and Subcontractors when applicable

Accountable For: Responsibilities & Standards

  • 1) Providing Technical Support
  • 1 Act as technical focal point onboard on all production related matters.
  • 2 Provide technical support to the production superintendent, offshore production team and onshore teams for day-to-day operations.
  • 3 Support process optimization, plant trials, MoCs reporting and troubleshooting activities ensuring safe, steady, and continuous production.
  • 4 Provides technical support to maximize the uptime key performance bonus under the contract.
  • 5 Ensure that the production/process capability on the Unit(s) is maintained at the highest practical level, and that any production/process downtime is minimized.
  • 6 Provide support for the optimization of surveillance and monitoring tools (SEEQ, PI Vision) and processes.
  • 7 Develop ad-hoc required technical documentation e.g., P &ID mark-ups, temporary procedures, technical notes etc. ensuring production procedures are up to date and relevant.
  • 2) Improving production stabilization and reliability
  • 1 Provide support for technically review of any process design changes that are requested under the Management of Change process.
  • 2 Define the functional requirements of design changes that may become necessary during the life of field and liaise with the MoC Engineer in line with SBM MS procedures.
  • 3 Ensure the Unit’s process operations manual(s) is maintained up to date to correctly reflect the operation of the process facility and any changes that have been made.
  • 4 Undertake/Support root cause studies to determine failures or under-performance of the process facility and recommend remedial actions in accordance with the SBM MS.
  • 5 Lead Investigator for process incidents level 3; developing detailed 5-whys of all IFS incidents and sharing as part of weekly RCFA meeting.
  • 3) Supporting all activities related to production stabilization and reliability
  • 1 Provide support with LO/LC register performing regularly field cross check.
  • 2 Provide support in minimize Instrument LTOs, Control and build action plan for removal.
  • 3 Provide support in maximize control loop in auto to comply with company strategy/KPI.
  • 4 Provide support with alarm management to comply with company strategy/KPI.
  • 5 Responsible for field markup documents related to production department and handover to onshore for “as built” version in document control system.

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree, BSc or MSc in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years in Upstream/Downstream Process design. Offshore FPSO experience will be a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management.
  • Detailed Process Design knowledge including use of conventional process design tools.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum of B2 level according to the CEFR international standard.
  • Medically fit according to The Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore.
