Project Engineer - Operations, Guyana
Role Purpose:
The Project Engineer is assigned to Operations Projects and is responsible for:
- Execution/timely completion of project in line with the business plan
- Oversee entire project activities from inception to closeout
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders with in different SBM offices and contractors to effectively execute projects managed by Operations
- Deliver projects in line with the approved budgets.
They report to the Change Management Lead

- In order to create a safe working project culture and effectively implement, you are to:
- Ensure that HSSE best practices are implemented during project execution
- Ensure relevant safety assessments have been performed in advance and relevant mitigation measures are in place before starting project execution activities in site
The measure of your effectiveness will be:
- Safe execution of projects in line with business plan
- In order to meet Group/Project Quality requirements, you are to:
- Adhere to the Quality Plan,
- Contribute to enforcing Group Quality Golden Rules,
- In order to achieve timely delivery of the Project during Operate phase, you are to:
- Ensure the Scope is fully defined for the project. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to drive the projection execution.
- Review of the project specifications, work packs and execution requirements for all projects manged inhouse
- Preparation of the Execution Plan, Cost estimate and Business case preparation for approvals
- Ensure the procurement, construction and execution phases of small projects will be properly executed within the MOC/small project team when required.
- Ensure bid packages are prepared well in advance for initiating procurement activities. Lead bid evaluation activities. Coordinate with discipline engineers and buyers to expedite the bid review process.
- Perform Cost and Schedule control for all projects managed by MOC/Project dept.
- Support with negotiating and finalizing the Fabrication or Procurement Contracts
- Support with coordination with procurement engineer for purchase of material and equipment
- Support with organization of mobilization/de-mobilization of personnel (both SBM and subcontractors) and equipment
- Ensure the monitoring of progress and issue the progress reports (S Curve) for the inhouse projects
- Frequent travel to offshore for understanding the offshore scopes and lead project execution activities.
- Drive all projects from start to completion
- Develop resource planning of project team
- Ensure the readiness of project execution offshore 3 months in advance to include in 90 days looking ahead planning.
- Approval of CONTRACTOR timesheets offshore.
