Regulatory Lead 


SBM Offshore is a world leader in floating production solutions. Our main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. We employ over 6,400 persons spread over eight locations, nine operational shore 
bases and the offshore fleet of vessels worldwide.


Through our local affiliate, Guyana Deep Water Operations Inc. (GDO), we are the Operator of the LIZA Destiny, LIZA Unity & Prosperity Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessels (FPSOs).
We are seeking to recruit a Regulatory System Lead to work onshore at our Georgetown shore base.

 

ROLE PURPOSE:
As Regulatory Lead, the incumbent will be responsible for the effective maintenance of the Company’s Regulatory, Class and Flag requirements, thereby contributing to the achievement of the discipline broader goals. The effective maintenance of the certificates, surveys/audits and findings will therefore 
enable the company to meet its objectives to prevent harm to our people, our assets, the environment, and the Company reputation, whilst reducing risks and achieving key business objectives whenever our management systems are applied. Responsible to manage and develop the Regulatory team in country and ensure the deployment the strategic of the Company. 

 

CORE FUNCTIONS:
• Ensure the application of Quality & Regulatory Policy for Operations;
• Ensure Class, Flag and Regulatory requirements;
• Ensure that the Regulatory and class certificates are maintained;
• Follow up the findings from Regulatory inspections and audits;
• Regulatory Information Management ,
• Administration of Data Bases and related support to end-users;
• Ensure the Documentation Control regarding Regulatory Information;
• Administration of Management Systems;
• Data processing, analysis and dashboarding;
• Ensure the local and regional contents of the ‘GEMS View for Operations’ portal and  repository;
• Co-ordinate feedback and reports from the offshore units;
• Collection, consolidation, and treatment of data, notably for reporting purposes;
• Drive leadership & culture improvement in Guyana supporting Regional Q&R manager in  development, deploy and delivery;
• Ensure consistency in the deployment of the Quality & Regulatory management system across  the offshore and onshore facilities;
• Share best practices; develop initiatives to learn from other unit operations;
• Promote and develop SBM Quality ad Regulatory Culture within the Country;
• Provide mentoring/coaching to the onshore and offshore population;
• Follow up and deploy regional initiatives with offshore and onshore leadership teams as  appropriate;
• Monitor effective performance against Quality and Regulatory KPI;
• Represents Quality and Regulatory discipline during external audits;

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• University degree in Engineering 
• Minimum 5 years’ Experience in Oil and Gas – preferably in Operations;
• Minimum 5 years’ Experience as Lead or Coordinator
• Experience with Class & Flag surveys and management system. 
• Experience with office software packages e.g. MS Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI,  Microsoft Access (or equivalent).
• Experience in Document Management Systems
• Fluent in (spoken and written) English.
• Available to travel to operating locations on an occasional basis
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interface with multi disciplines;
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills;
• Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
