SBM Offshore is a world leader in floating production solutions. Our main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.  We employ over 7,500 people spread over eight locations, nine operational shore bases and the offshore fleet of vessels worldwide.

Through our local affiliate company, Guyana Deep Water Operations Inc. (GDO), we are the Operator of the LIZA Destiny, LIZA UNITY, and PROSPERITY FPSOs in Guyana.

We are looking for a Regulatory Specialist- Junior to work at our Georgetown Shore base.

 

This position reports to: Quality & Regulatory Regional Manager

 

 

Role Purpose:

 

As Regulatory Specialist-Junior, the incumbent will be responsible for the effective maintenance of the Company’s Systems & tools thereby contributing to the achievement of the discipline broader goals. The effective maintenance of the certificates will therefore enable the company to meet its objectives to prevent harm to our people, our assets, the environment, and the Company reputation, whilst reducing risks and achieving key business objectives whenever our management systems are applied.

 

 

Core Functions:

  • Ensure the application of Regulatory Policy for Operations
  • Ensure regulatory activities.
  • Ensure that the Regulatory and class certificates is maintained.
  • Follow the findings from Regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Regulatory Information Management.
  • Administration of Data Bases and related support to end-users.
  • Documentation Control regarding Regulatory Information.
  • Administration of Management Systems.
  • Improve and maintain data base systems.
  • Data processing, analysis and dashboarding.
  • Training/Coaching people in the use of databases.

 

 

 

  • Maintenance of the regional contents of the ‘GEMS View for Operations’ portal and repository.
  • Set-up and maintenance the operating manuals for the Guyana Fleet, including Management of Change.
  • Co-ordinate feedback and reports from the offshore units.
  • Contribution to Regulatory Assurance activities
  • Collection, consolidation, and treatment of data, notably for reporting purposes.
  • Follow the operations procedures and training people onshore and offshore.
  • Update registers (like MDR, UDIR register, technical documental, etc.)

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent.
  • Experience in Quality or Project Management.
  • Experience in Document Management Systems.
  • Experience with office software packages e.g., MS Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, Microsoft Access (or equivalent)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ professional experience in development, deployment and/or management of digital tools and data bases, preferably within an operational environment.
  • Available to travel to operating locations on an occasional basis.
