Senior Operations Cost Controller

Purpose
- You ensure the unit operates costeffectively by monitoring and analyzing expenses with minimum supervision. You will develop and manage budgets, identify costsaving opportunities, collaborate with stakeholders, and prepare timely, accurate financial reports to support management decisionmaking and provide strategic financial guidance. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with audit and financial standards.
Responsibilities
- You play a critical role in the 3Y unit's budget preparation by gathering planned maintenance data, OPEX history, performance data, and inflation factors, including revenues. You establish clear financial goals for the next three years and lead all stakeholders financially.
- You monitor and analyze the unit’s costs to ensure alignment with the budget, allocating expenses by department, project, and period (month, quarter, year). You use spreadsheets and financial software to organize data, reviewing the budget with the unit’s manager to ensure understanding and realistic forecasts. Adjustments are made as necessary, identifying areas for improvement.
- You prepare monthly cost control reports, analyzing budget deviations and intermediate targets. This includes rolling forecasts, quarterly and yearly cost variances, cash projections, and budget vs. actual comparisons. These reports are presented clearly to both onshore and offshore teams and the consolidation reporting team, ensuring actionable insights for decisionmaking.
- You coordinate with departments for horizontal budget analysis across the fleet, giving managers a clear view of cost behavior. You keep units informed on their budget status, whether quarterly or during the budget exercise. You ensure adequate financial support, including purchase order approvals and rolling forecasts.
- You manage purchase order approvals, ensuring correct budget allocation. You monitor purchase orders throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and promptly present variations, opportunities, and risks to the operations team.
- You collaborate with the financial team to manage cash flow, maintain accurate accounting records, enforce internal controls, and prepare for external audits by ensuring accurate and accessible financial documentation.
- You play a role in training other cost control team members on technical tasks, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Economics or Finance.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Controlling or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
