  1. Job description

The Product Development Engineer is accountable for ensuring Product technical quality.

 

As Product Development Engineer, in the vessel product development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring effectiveness and quality of standardized vessel product during execution.
  • Providing any support in assessing/understanding a potential issue, prior to resolution.
  • Maintaining clear visibility of Product design evolution during execution.
  • Coordinating technical assurance with technical authorities.

 

As Product Development Engineer, you will work across all engineering disciplines in close collaboration with Product development team, MPF Program, Operations and technical authorities.

 

 

ROLE CONTRIBUTION

1. In order to monitor effectiveness and quality of standardized vessel product during execution YOU ARE TO:

1.1. Communicate regularly with MPF Program, operations and technical authorities,

1.2. Use dedicated tools to efficiently treat those feedbacks,

1.3. Perform assurance of alerts, flashes and learnings implementation

 

 

2. In order to provide support in assessing/understanding a potential issue YOU ARE TO:

2.1. Have a strong technical background in all vessel disciplines

2.2. Have a holistic view of a project (technical, commercial, operational, etc…) and of the company strategy,

2.3. Have a quick mind set, capable of filtering feedbacks in a very short time,

2.4. Be flexible and have an open mindset to be able to think outside the box,

2.5. Support vessel product team in making decisions,

2.6. Support vessel product team in issuing product alert for project implementation.

 

3. In order to maintain clear visibility of Product design evolution during execution YOU ARE TO:

3.1. Maintain an up-to-date vessel outline specification markup for each awarded hull, including full traceability of design evolution

3.2. Maintain an up-to-date set of markups for each awarded hull, including full traceability of design evolution

3.3. Support consolidation of RFQ package for next hull to be awarded.

3.4. Identify opportunities for improvements for the next hull

 

4. In order to coordinate technical assurance, YOU ARE TO:

4.1. Communicate regularly with Technical Authorities,

4.2. Provide sufficient information for technical assurance to occur,

4.3. Ensure alignment between MPF Program and Technical Authorities and follow-up actual implementation of comments within the design.

 

 

  1. Job requirements
  • Engineering university level (Preferably marine systems)
  • 5-10 years experience in the offshore engineering industry, with broad knowledge of SBM products and execution experience as EPM or DLE or EPE
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Quick and proactive mindset
  • Great communication skills and autonomy
