Purpose

  • Oversee the management and tracking of IT assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness, and optimal utilization for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the procurement, deployment, and disposal of IT assets, including hardware, software, and peripherals, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, including inventory, configuration, and license information, using asset management tools and systems in the asset inventory tool.
  • Tracking asset lifecycle processes, such as provisioning, decommissioning, and recycling, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments of IT assets to verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and reconcile inventory records.
  • Collaborating with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimize asset utilization, minimize costs, and maximize return on investment.
  • Initialize procurement requests and perform any activities related to Purchase Orders and invoice status.
  • Produce any evidences necessary for internal or external audits related to procurement and asset management.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests for information regarding IT assets, providing reports, analysis, and recommendations as needed.
  • Managing software license compliance, including tracking license usage, renewals, and agreements, and ensuring adherence to software vendor requirements.
  • Implementing and enforcing IT asset management policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and safeguard organizational assets.
  • Providing training and support to end-users and IT staff on IT asset management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to IT asset management to inform continuous improvement efforts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT asset management, inventory control, or a related field, with a strong understanding of IT hardware, software, and licensing principles.
  • Proven experience in managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal.
  • Hands-on experience with IT asset management tools and systems, such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Flexera, to maintain accurate inventory records and track asset-related data.
  • Knowledge of software license compliance requirements and experience in managing software license agreements, renewals, and audits.
  • Familiarity with asset tagging and tracking methodologies, including barcoding, RFID, and asset management databases.
  • Experience in conducting asset audits, reconciling inventory records, and identifying discrepancies or variances.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze asset data, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Understanding of IT procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) are preferred.
