Purpose
- Provide technical assistance and support to users, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
Responsibilities
- Providing technical assistance and support to users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems related to computer systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Responding to service requests and incidents in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Documenting and maintaining records of support activities, including solutions provided and resolutions implemented.
- Collaborating with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues and escalate problems as needed.
- Conducting routine system maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and backups.
- Providing training and guidance to users on the proper use of technology and software applications.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and security protocols.
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) may be advantageous.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in an IT helpdesk or support environment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with Windows and/or Mac operating systems, as well as common productivity software suites such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems for incident tracking and resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.
- Experience in providing remote support via phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
- Knowledge of basic network concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience in providing end-user training and support documentation creation.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices or other service management frameworks is a plus.
