Purpose
- As Instrumentation and Controls Designer, you are responsible for supporting the design of safe, reliable, and cost‑effective engineering solutions aligned with the organization’s operational and strategic objectives
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and execution of the design within the scope of specifications and client requirements, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations. This includes designing and delivering Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering drawings, layouts, detailed and fabrication drawings for FPSO projects to support safe, efficient construction and installation and commissioning.
- You utilize technical knowledge and software tools to depict the design that can be easily and correctly interpreted by others.
- You collaborate with engineers, other designers and lead designer to share information, ensure that the design intent is understood and resolve design conflicts.
- You are responsible for planning and completing activities and deliverables within the agreed time frame as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
- You escalate unresolved issues to the lead designer/engineer to minimize the delays in deliverables, understanding how the assigned tasks fit within the project schedule and affect other stakeholders in meeting deadlines.
- You ensure that the applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
- You collaborate with package engineers to ensure the timely review of the vendor documents and that comments are made with the required quality level.
- You are responsible for performing 3D model reviews using AVEVA E3D and/or Navisworks in order to identify clashes, accessibility issues and areas for model quality improvement.
- You ensure 3D review comments close-out.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the drawings incorporate the inputs from the vendor data and other disciplines to support seamless fabrication, installation, and assembly fit.
Education
- Diploma in engineering, design or related field from recognized university/college or valid technical certificate
