Office HSSE Advisor

Purpose
- The Office HSSE Advisor is responsible for monitoring and control of all HSSE matters related to office personnel and contractors in ensuring that the Office is compliant with all local, state and federal legislations regarding workplace safety, as well as company requirements as set out in GEMS. You provide overall HSSE expertise to Office HSSE, Project HSSE support, and Human Rights (HuR) support.
Responsibilities
- Office HSSE Support:
- You monitor and update HSSE and Human Rights (HuR) procedures, ensuring alignment with legislative changes and company directives.
- You formulate and enforce Office HSSE policies and procedures to ensure local compliance and corporate alignment.
- You develop and manage emergency response plans, including evacuation protocols, emergency communication, and drill exercises.
- You conduct regular HSSE training, track completion, and organize impactful awareness campaigns.
- You perform office risk assessments, implement control measures, and ensure compliance through regular inspections.
- You investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- You address HSSE concerns raised by employees, investigate hazards, and mitigate risks.
- You analyze HSSE observation and intervention trends, sharing lessons learned to improve safety practices.
- You ensure proper management of the Emergency Response Team, in line with local government legislation.
- You maintain records of HSSE inspections, incidents, and training, providing support to management and employees.
- You stay updated on HSSE legislation, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
- You foster a positive health and safety culture by leading by example and demonstrating commitment to HSSE responsibilities.
- Project HSSE Support:
- You conduct HSSE reviews for Supplier Qualification Requests (SQRs) and vendor audits as needed.
- You support the Project HSSE Manager with statistics, KPIs, trend analysis, and related reporting.
- You manage HSSE training records, ensuring compliance with training requirements.
- You conduct workforce “Field Listening Tours” and welfare inspections, ensuring worker wellbeing and addressing concerns.
- You assist with Worker Welfare Assessments and support external stakeholders during social performance evaluations.
- You collaborate with the SBM Offshore Group Human Rights team on initiatives and reporting.
Education
- As a minimum, hold a Diploma in safety management, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Certified Auditor in ISO 45001:2018 or ISO 14001:2015.
- Certified Auditor in SA8000 (HuR and Social Accountability).
- Local certification as required by the local government institutions (if any).
Experience
- 5 or more years of experience in HSSE. This should include management of HSSE in an office environment.
- Proven thorough HSSE knowledge in the different fields i.e. Health, Safety, Security and Environment
