Purpose
- As Operability Lead Engineer, you are responsible for SBM Operations’ technical deliverables and for coordinating technical reviews throughout the FPSO project.
- You will follow all project phases — engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning — to ensure operability and maintainability requirements are embedded up to final handover of the facility.
Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Leadership
- Coordinate and provide operability and maintainability input across WIN, design, construction, and completion stages of the EPC project to ensure a safe, competitive, and fit‑for‑purpose FPSO aligned with contractual and SBM Operations requirements.
- Act as the Internal Client for technical acceptance of EPC deliverables.
- Ensure designs meet Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) targets and uptime requirements.
- Verify EPC work compliance with SBM Group Technical Standards (GTS) and quality procedures.
Team Coordination & Review Management
- Supervise and coordinate SBM Operations Discipline Superintendents, including workload planning and fostering constructive collaboration with the EPC team.
- Consolidate and periodically review the Operations Comments Register with the Engineering Manager.
- Develop and manage the Operations review plan and matrix for all NEO document review cycles, including Operability, Asset Integrity, HSSE, and Technical Experts.
Project Reviews & Technical Assurance
- Coordinate and participate in key project reviews such as HAZOPs, model reviews, vendor bid evaluations, FATs, and technical safety reviews.
- Review engineering documentation, operating manuals, and Operational Test Procedures (OTPs).
- Validate the Operations Punch List and coordinate verification of mechanical completion for critical systems.
- Oversee execution of OTPs during system completion and handover.
Continuous Improvement
- Capture and feedback technical, operational, and commercial lessons learned into SBM Group and Operations Management Systems, GTS, and future projects.
Education
- University degree (BSc or MSc) in a relevant engineering discipline: Process, Marine, Mechanical, or equivalent.
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in the oil & gas industry with previous international experience.
- Good general knowledge of FPSO design and familiarity with engineering processes and design office phases.
- Operations exposure is an advantage.
