Purpose
- The purpose of a Senior Cost Controller is to supervise, manage and monitor overall project finances, ensuring projects stay within budget for the whole project scope. (S)he ensures accurate financial reporting and analysis id delivered at various level of the project cost breakdown structure. This role supports project decisionmaking through effective cost control, risk assessment, and financial forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing and overseeing the overall cost control processes of projects.
- Monitoring project budgets (including budget setups), forecasting future financial performance, analyzing variances, and ensuring that projects remain financially viable.
- Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders, as well as constructively challenging them where required, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project cost control, financial analysis, or a similar role. Experience in Oil & Gas and large infrastructure industries preferred.
