Purpose
- As Senior Instrumentation Engineer, you are responsible for designing and delivering safe, reliable and sustainable engineering solutions that support project goals and contribute to the organization’s strategic objectives and long-term success.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the engineering and design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations. This includes the development of instrumentation and control deliverables such as philosophies, design briefs, specifications and datasheets, performing and validating instrument sizing calculations and technical selections, preparing and reviewing instrument data sheets, specifications, requisition documents and technical bid evaluations.
- You are accountable to ensure consistency and alignment between Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Instrument Index, Instrument data sheets, termination and loop Diagrams.
- You are accountable to review and verify related instrumentation and control deliverables such as Instrument Index, Instrument data sheets, termination and loop diagrams, specification and requisition documents prepared by Instrumentation and Control Engineer.
- You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within the agreed time frame and budget as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
- You ensure that your scope of work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBMâs internal requirements.
- You ensure that the applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the impact of change within and across project system boundaries. Also, you actively contribute to the discipline lessons learned, feedback from vendors, subcontractors and third parties execution and close out reviews.
- You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBMâs internal requirements.
- You may be assigned as a package engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the package. Also, you may be assigned to support and evaluate the instrumentation and control scope for mechanical packages, ensuring vendor compliance with agreed technical requirements.
- You shall identify technical changes, assess package level impacts, and support formal change management and deviation processes.
- You are responsible for providing hands-on technical support to construction, commissioning, and offshore teams, troubleshooting site issues, responding to technical queries, and supporting engineering close out and accurate as-built documentation.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, or related field from recognized university/college
