ROLE PURPOSE

As Discipline Engineer, you are recognized as a subject matter expert for your specific discipline in the Company. You are responsible for meeting the objectives and improving the performance, through the application of your discipline framework, to prevent or mitigate any risks to our personnel, assets, the environment or our Company reputation. As the focal point for your discipline you provide support and advice to units, RCs and Group on specific discipline requirements and capture feedback for continuous improvement. You play a key role in the development and promotion of a strong leadership, positive behaviour and culture, across the organization.

 

ROLE CONTRIBUTION

1. In order to ensure a consistent and effective application of the discipline strategy and processes across the organisation, for your applicable discipline, you are to:

1.1 Contribute to the development and maintenance of discipline standard working procedures, in alignment with the management systems, Group strategy, local regulations and continuous improvement mechanism such as ISRS and PSM

1.2 Coordinate the deployment of those standards, in liaison with the RCs, taking into account local regulations

1.3 Provide support and advice on your discipline framework and regulations, and ensure alignment Company standards and stakeholders’ requirements

1.4 Drive continuous improvements of the policies, systems and tools based on lessons learnt and feedback

1.5 Provide regular feedback, alert on potential risks and suggest improvement actions on your discipline performance to Senior Management

1.6 Support the RCs during external audits and drive corrective action close out

1.7 Keep up-to-date on regulatory changes and industry best practices

1.8 Contribute to setting of management targets and ensure appropriate data collection, reporting and monitoring

1.9 Supervise and support external consultants and contractors to ensure development of discipline deliverables

1.10 (Specific to ER) Ensure effective application and continuous improvement of the ER processes and facilities

 

The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:

 Satisfaction of stakeholders on implementation of processes and policies  Compliance with the management systems

 Performance achieved against your discipline targeted KPIs

 (Specific to Safety Case and SLP) Acceptance of deliverables by internal and external stakeholders

 

2. In order to embed a strong leadership and culture across the organization, for your applicable discipline, you are to:

2.1. Develop and deploy awareness and training initiatives

2.2. Monitor effective regional implementation of the programs and campaigns to improve global performance

 

The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:

 Feedback after programmes and campaigns

 Stakeholder feedback on discipline engagement
