Job description:

The Topsides Structural Engineer utilizes knowledge and experience of engineering principles and procedures to complete work ensuring the engineering design is properly translated into drawings, specification and other documents. As the Topsides Structural Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the design is in compliance with international codes, Company specifications, and industry standards and regulations. The Topsides Structural Engineer must be able to prioritize assigned activities and collaborate with the Discipline Lead, multiple internal disciplines and external parties to deliver a safe, efficient design that meets project requirements.

• Develop engineering documents in a manner that the design intent can be interpreted correctly.
• Complete tasks in compliance with applicable engineering codes, industry standards/regulations and work procedures
• Proactively provide Discipline Lead with status updates, highlight concerns as they arise, and prioritize assigned activities to meet key milestones
• Network and proactively engage other disciplines and relevant stakeholders to serve as a source of support and design input in executing engineering design and deliverables.
• Produce consistent/ organized documents in a well-structured format to clearly convey required information.
• Provide support and/ or coordinate with construction, package engineer, third party consultants, etc. to ensure timely review of documents or technical query and that comments are made with required quality level.
• Provide timely and accurate input to other disciplines in support of their design requirements.
• Ensure activities and deliverables are completed with consistency and quality and in compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Structural/ Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 8 years working experience.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision to produce structural design from concept to detailed engineering phase, produce structural sketches and manual calculations, check construction drawing and review vendor package document.
• Possess good fundamental knowledge and understanding on structural theory and behaviour.
• Familiar with the latest AISC, API, DNVGL, ABS/ BV codes, standards and guidelines.
• Experience with SESAM GeniE, STAAD.Pro or SACS.
