Responsibilities & Main Tasks

  • Manages the overall activities of the Marine & Naval team and coach the team as required.
  • Focused on operational support, improvement programs and MoCs
  • Ensures that the Marine Systems & Equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the Management System and best practices
  • Propose and implement tactics for the maintenance of marine equipment
  • Maintains Operations Manuals up to date and reviewed according to the operational needs and changes implemented
  • Supports in the modifications of design of the unit (management of change) and liaises with Fleet Support (engineering) to develop and implement the changes
  • Prepares and manages the budget for the 3 year plan related to the marine activities and liaise with the Operations Managers to ensure that it is captured in the operations plan
  • Supports and follows-up internal and external audits related to Marine subjects, as well as the close-out of the consequent actions
  • When required, liaises with relevant technical discipline, Classification Societies and subcontractors, as necessary, to maintain conditions of Class.
  • Supports in the investigation of incidents, assign actions, ensure RCA studies are carried out and lessons recorded and implemented.
  • Ensures the team has clear objectives aligned with the business
  • Provides support and ensure individual and team development
  • Reports activities and escalate issues to department and operations managers
  • Travels to the operating units and yards as required

 

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Engineering – (Marine, Naval or Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in offshore operations / FPSO experience and/or Sailing Vessels (Oil Tankers, LNG tankers, etc)
  • Familiarity with cargo and mooring operations as well as marine equipment
  • Experience in management of teams
  • Versed in IMO (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc) requirements
  • Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF and others)
  • Fluent English mandatory, Portuguese proficiency desired
  • Willingness to obtain BOSIET certification and travel to offshore FPSOs, what will be a mandatory factor in the probation period
