JOB PURPOSE

As a Financial Risk Management Analyst, your mission is to contribute to safeguarding the organization against currency volatility. You’ll analyze FX risk, execute transactions, and ensure effective cash management—all while optimizing balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L) outcomes. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in treasury accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and analysis of hedging and FX-related transactions and compliance with internal controls.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• FX Risk Analysis and Management:

• Assist in analyzing and managing the foreign exchange (FX) risk of the group.

• Evaluate and recommend hedging strategies.

• Act as a treasury dealer, executing FX transactions (FX, FX swaps, other treasury products) as needed.

• Work closely with the Cash Management team to ensure effective funding through FX swaps and settlement of FX hedges, aligning with physical and financial commodity settlement.

• Assist in managing currency exposure across various subsidiaries and joint ventures, focusing on balance sheet and FX profit and loss (P&L) risk management.

• Treasury Accounting:

• Ensure the correct application of IFRS for financial instruments, including hedge accounting and fair values.

• Liaise with the Accounting department for the correct accounting treatment of FRM activities.

• Prepare reconciliation of FX derivatives, Mark-To-Market bookings, and valuation adjustments.

• Monitor and account for FX derivatives and financial income/expense results.

• Validate hedging strategies’ effectiveness on a quarterly basis.

• Ensure proper internal controls and segregation of duties within the Financial Risk Management Team. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree (University or "Haute Ecole Spécialisée" (HES)) in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (such as Master’s in Finance or relevant certifications) are advantageous.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial risk management, treasury, or related roles.

• Proven track record in analyzing and managing FX risk within a corporate context.

• Ability to evaluate and recommend effective hedging strategies.

• Hands-on execution of FX transactions (including swaps) as a treasury dealer.

• Familiarity with cash management coordination and funding through FX swaps.

• Exposure to currency exposure management, particularly related to balance sheet and FX P&L risk.

• Knowledge of commodity settlement processes.

• Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams.

• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

• Proficient knowledge of Excel and VBA is a must. PowerBI / SQL knowledge a plus.

• Strong understanding of IFRS and treasury accounting principles.
