Purpose

  • As Gas System Engineer, you ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and sustainability of the Gas Compression System by managing system health, value, and budget. You engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to align asset lifecycle objectives, drive continuous improvement, and enhance system safety and profitability. You focus on developing and refining KPIs, conducting digital surveillance, and responding to incidents to maintain system uptime. Additionally, it involves monitoring CO2 emissions, leading pilot projects, and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • You are accountable, with the Gas Compression System Lead, for delivering system health, value, and budget performance to the asset leadership team.
  • You engage with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams to align asset lifecycle objectives and drive improvements.
  • You are the focal point for external stakeholders, including technology, supply chain, maintenance, and fleet management.
  • You ensure continuous improvement of system design to enhance safety, sustainability, and profitability.
  • You develop and refine system KPIs, oversee digital surveillance, and prioritize actions across FPSO systems.
  • You participate in rapid responses to offshore incidents and support maintenance planning for optimal system uptime.
  • You contribute to the Smart Operation Production Hub Roadmap, enhancing system efficiency through monitoring and predictive technologies;
  • You create comprehensive dashboards and KPIs to monitor system performance, address weaknesses, and track key initiatives;
  • You track key initiatives and QnA/MOC to improve system performance, track implementation of Safety/Maintenance Alerts
  • You conduct digital surveillance, validate abnormal behaviors, and define corrective actions with the technical team.
  • You provide analyses and propose recommendations to improve systems performance with respect to safety, sustainability, and reliability
  • You manage spare part stock, align maintenance tasks to minimize downtime, and review shutdown scopes to ensure key tasks are captured.
  • You monitor CO2 emissions, identify abnormalities, and recommend reduction strategies..
  • You lead pilot projects/initiatives for implementing systems engineering approach in shore bases, offshore and in our designs.
  • Conduct audits of system and mobilize offshore as necessary.
  • Participate to HAZOP and HAZID as required.

Education

  • Process Engineer, Rotating Equipment Engineer or other related area

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Operation and in relation with the system he will lead.
  • Field Experience is required.
  • FPSO experience is required.
  • Familiarized with working procedure, regulatory compliance, and offshore constraints.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Able to travel abroad and offshore on short or long duration basis as required.
  • Able to bring a global understanding of a system.
  • Be an expert in the system she/he will lead.
  • Have experience with engineering, commissioning, and operation activities.
