Purpose
- As HSSE Trainer, for your assigned locations, you are responsible for ensuring that employees, contractors and SBM visitors, at Construction sites work in a safe, secure and environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all standards, rules and other requirements imposed by Company, Regulators, Clients and other relevant Stakeholders.
- You actively drive the effective implementation of your discipline’s standards and Training methods, applicable on construction sites. You play a key role in promoting and embedding strong leadership, positive behaviour and culture across your assigned locations.
Responsibilities
- You prepare and verify HSSE requirements in Tool Box Talk (TBT) training packages.
- You perform preparation of HAZIDs by being involved in the assessment of work and requirements to ensure all risks are mitigated. You also conduct HAZID training for specific entities and personnel.
- You ensure all SBM personnel are trained in their specific job scopes.
- You are involved in the planning and perform all Risk Assessments for the scope of work being completed.
- You assist in Monthly HSSE Audits on site.
- You ensure the company Risk Register is up to date.
- You ensure the monthly HSSE activity plan is adhered to and any new initiatives are added to the plan for future implementation.
- You assist in the training of project personnel as well as the workforce on site. This training needs to comply with the Project training syllabus.
- You check and monitor the environmental activities to prevent and avoid any environmental effects and ensure that the specific Environmental Procedures are adhered to.
- You ensure there is a marked reduction in the occurrence of occupational hazards in your organization.
- You ensure that all SBM personnel are trained in See it – Intervene – Report it (SIR).
- You look for creative ways to ensure that your organization’s culture of health and safety is improved by using the Intervention process to explore this through 2-way communication.
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems
Experience
- 8 or more years of experience in Health, Safety ,Security and Environment and Fire Services in the Oil and Gas industry of which 5 years in the Offshore Hook Up and Commissioning sector.
- Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using Tripod Beta Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques, HEMP, Radiological Safety.
- Previous HSSE Training experience and Certification.
- Industrial Hygiene, and Gas Dispersion, Modelling, Explosion Indices and ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
