The Project Construction Manager is responsible for the delivery of the overall construction
/completion phase in compliance with project HSSE, Quality and schedule requirements up until sailaway.
You are involved throughout the lifecycle to implement the construction strategy.
You provide the necessary Construction expertise to support the Project Management Team to make
key strategic decisions. You report to the Group Construction Director, with a functional line to the
Project Director.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
1. In order to create a safe work environment on Site, you are to:
1.1. Provide the leadership to ensure that the HSSE plan is understood and implemented by all
Site project personnel
The measure of your effectiveness will be:
Group and Project HSSE targets are met
2. In order to meet Group/Project Quality requirements, you are to:
2.1. Provide the leadership to ensure that the Quality Plan is understood and implemented by all
Site Construction personnel
2.2. Lead the site Quality verification team
The measure of your effectiveness will be:
Group and Project targets are met
No violation of the Group Quality Golden Rules
3. In order that the Project Construction Schedule is achieved, you are to:
3.1. Provide early input during the constructability process
3.2. To develop the site construction schedule with the yard
3.3. Ensure in line with the contract, the necessary equipment, tools and labour are provided
3.4. Monitor progress and if necessary implement recovery measures
The measure of your effectiveness will be:
Major Construction milestones are met during Project execution
4. In order that the Project Manager is able to make well-informed strategic decisions, you are to:
4.1. Ensure reporting concerning all construction/completions activities is accurate and timely
submitted
4.2. Ensure engineering and procurement changes are reviewed and assessed by the relevant
Construction disciplines and advise the Project Manager
4.3. Support the Project Manager during all Commercial meetings with the yard
The measure of your effectiveness will be:
The successful resolution of construction/completions schedule risks
Accurate reporting of the level of completion
