RAM & Spares Strategy Engineer

Reporting to the RAM and Spare Parts Lead, as a RAM engineer, you will play a leading role in quantifying and optimising performance, availability, and volumetric efficiency of our systems and assets. The Capital Spares Specialist will identify opportunities to adjust capital spares holding strategies based on spares consumption rates, logistics times and production risk to minimize downtime, and improve the overall operational effectiveness of the current operating fleet and the next generation of FPSOs.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITES

 

The successful applicants general responsibilities will include (but not limited to) :

 

1) Spares Parts Strategy Optimisation

Evaluate and enhance the current spare parts strategy on operating FPSOs using RAM principles to ensure the availability of critical systems and equipment.

Conduct Capital Spares Studies during bid, design and operational phases to support business cases on purchasing / investment decisions that influence bid price and budgets.

Develop data-driven approaches to optimize spare parts / stock inventory, balancing cost-effectiveness with the need for timely replacements.

Develop and govern the SBM Corporate Spares Strategy including management of KPIs, training etc.

2) RAM Analysis

Perform reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) studies to the support the bid, design phase and operational phases in compliance to relevant standards such as ISO 20815 and ISO TS 3250.

Develop business cases for RAM related projects, outlining the financial implications and anticipated returns

Support project team during FPSO RAM study to ensure that equipment with the highest contribution to unavailability impact are identified and help evaluating the optimal risk mitigation strategies.

Support development of digital applications to ensure live data is connected and considered in live RAM analysis tool

3) Management System, Documentation and Reporting

Develop and govern the relevant SBM internal standards, work processes, guidelines and instructions

Maintain thorough documentation of reliability and spare parts analyses, actions taken, and lessons learned.

Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer with a focus on RAM modelling.
  • Proficiency in reliability / spares analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Spares / Stock management background is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams.

 

Personal:              Analytical mindset for deciphering complex RAM data.

                               Detail-oriented approach in identifying nuances within reliability analyses.

                                Strong problem-solving skills to address root causes effectively

 

Leadership:          Good levels of written and spoken communication

                               Ability to lead international and multicultural teams 

 

Technical:             Proficiency in RAM modeling and simulation tools

                               Familiarity with IT / CMMS systems for data collection and analysis
