Purpose

  • As a Tax Reporting Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of our group’s tax reporting activities. You’ll support quarterly and annual tax closings, contribute to strategic tax initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax reporting. The group’s SBM Offshore tax reporting is based on International Financial Reporting Standards.

Responsibilities

  • You are involved in preparing the tax position in the annual accounts (IFRS) and understand differences between result before tax at consolidated level and at statutory/tax level for legal entities of the group. You advise and support finance and tax departments on various tax issues, when it comes to cross-functional questions.
  • You play key role in preparation of tools and processes for tax reporting closing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax-related entries in the financial statements.
  • Contribute to Pillar 2 reporting, maintaining the tool and preparation of reporting based on Pillar 2 activities.
  • Support coordination of quarterly and annual tax closing/reporting processes including maintenance of the systems used in the preparation of tax reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of accurate and timely corporate income tax returns, including gathering data, financial records, and supporting documentation for various jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, and external tax advisors to gather necessary information and ensure smooth tax operations under the supervision of a senior tax reporting counsel.
  • Collaboration on other, more complex tax topics and supporting various improvement initiatives.

Education

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or tax law (or equivalent).

Experience

  • Prior similar tax-related role in corporate tax or in a financial/consultancy firm.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good skills in terms of planning, organizing and prioritizing the work.
  • Experience and/or interest in maintenance of key data in finance/tax tools.
  • You have a quick grasp, a good understanding of numbers and a networked, flexible way of thinking
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (Dutch, French, and/or Portuguese is an additional asset).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
