Purpose
- To analyze and ensure compliance with tax regulations, optimize tax efficiency, and provide accurate tax reporting and advisory services to support organizational financial strategies and objectives
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, businesses, and/or corporations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.Assist in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations by conducting research, interpreting tax codes, and applying them to financial data.
- Provide support in tax planning activities, including analyzing financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and optimization.Analyze financial statements and other financial data to calculate tax liabilities, credits, deductions, and adjustments.Conduct research on tax issues, rulings, and regulations to stay updated with changes in tax laws and their implications.Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and workpapers in compliance with regulatory requirements.Assist in tax audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and resolving tax issues under the guidance of senior tax professionals.Assist in preparing tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders (also international).
Experience
- Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, preferably in a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or consulting firm.Proficiency in preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Familiarity with tax compliance software (e.g., TurboTax, CCH, Thomson Reuters) is beneficial.Understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Ability to research tax issues and stay updated with changes in tax laws.Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and tax implications. Experience in tax planning, tax provisions, or transfer pricing analysis is a plus.
