Purpose

  • To ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting, supporting financial transparency and regulatory adherence within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing and filing accurate tax returns on time.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to taxes, including income tax provisions, disclosures, and deferred taxes.
  • Assist in tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for the organization.
  • Coordinate and provide support during tax audits, including gathering requested documents and explaining tax positions taken by the company.
  • Conduct tax research to stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, interpret their implications, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and workpapers in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, such as finance and accounting teams, on tax-related issues and implications of business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax reporting and compliance, and implement changes to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax reporting and share knowledge with colleagues through training sessions or updates.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Taxation (M.Tax), International Tax Law, or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a focus on tax law are is preferred. These degrees provide a solid foundation in legal and financial principles necessary for understanding transfer pricing regulations and policies.
  • Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or specialized certifications in transfer pricing (e.g., Certified Transfer Pricing Professional CTPP) further demonstrate expertise and commitment to the field.Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax authorities.

Experience

  • Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, financial reporting, or a related field, with a focus on tax compliance and reporting.Proficiency in preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Experience with tax provisions and calculations is desirable.Understanding of tax laws and regulations relevant to corporate tax reporting. Familiarity with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and tax regulations. Ability to analyze financial statements and identify tax implications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors. Ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and concisely.
