Purpose
- The Cash Specialist is responsible for optimizing cash management and financial efficiency by handling complex cash analysis tasks and supporting cash management activities.
- This role ensures the organization maintains sufficient liquidity to meet its financial obligations and prepares accurately cash projections that provide meaningful infomration to leadership for decision making.
Responsibilities
- Cash Position Analysis: Accurately monitor, analyze, and report the cash position, clearly explaining variances against forecasts.
- Free Cash Management: Optimize working capital by managing available cash, coordinating with intercompany accountants and accounts payable to control IC payables and oversee dividend distribution.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare annual cash plans, three-year cash projections, and comprehensive cash plans aligned with the project’s lifecycle.
- Cash Management Procedures Development: Assist in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and creating tools to track effectiveness. Evaluate and enhance existing procedures as needed.
- Cash Management and Covenants: Maintain oversight of cash movements between entities to ensure compliance with contractual structures and covenants, providing support and guidance to stakeholders.
- Compliance and Procedures: Exercise overall control to guarantee that all cash movements adhere to covenant requirements and contract structures, while optimizing tax exposure.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Proactively engage internal stakeholders (Cost Control, Accounting, Tax, Treasury teams, executives) to align cash management strategies with organizational objectives. Build strong relationships with external partners through timely and high-quality reporting and forecasting.
- System Development and Coordination: Contribute to continuous improvement of cash management systems and coordinate with remote locations to support effective cash management.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (University or "Haute Ecole Spécialisée" (HES)) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in cash management, treasury operations, or financial analysis and forecasting.
- Strong skills in data analysis - forecasting and accounting principles (preferably cash flow statements).
- Previous exposure with contracts and understanding of complex company structures
- Proficiency in preparing cash reports, as well as creating cash forecasts.
- Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail & presentation skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel is a must.
- VBA / PowerBI / SQL knowledge a plus.
