THE POSITION

Contract Manager with a focus on providing support on contracts for installation and transportation within the Installation Product Line both for WIN and EXECUTE phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS

  • Administration of all contracts falling within the scope of the Installation PL
  • Supply commercial and contractual assistance to Installation PL WIN team as well as on contracts during EXECUTE phase;
  • Coordinate Insurance and Bank Guarantee requirements with Legal;
  • Support and participate in the development of contracting strategies, preparation of Sub-contracts and management of Sub-contract tendering and award process;
  • Prepare and manage the Contract requirements Plan
  • Monitor the performance and compliance with the contractual requirements and the signatory powers, expedite disciplines where necessary and highlight potential areas of concern;
  • Contribute to the contractual awareness across the Project Team throughout the life of the project;
  • Achieve and maintain total auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings, including clear record keeping and regular commercial reporting;
  • Draft or review formal Project correspondence as applicable;
  • Payment Milestones follow-up;
  • Participate and Provide input to Risk and Opportunities management;
  • Ensure delivery and warranty conditions are applied in line with contract provisions
  • Coordinates:
    • Contract management across all business fields.
    • LCC wide and insurance
  • Liaises:
    • Internally: Installation PL Director & Sales team, Project Management, Sales Managers, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Insurance, Tax & Financial Counsels and Legal Counsel/Managers,
    • Externally with Clients, Contractors, Suppliers, Law Firms, Experts and Consultants
  1. Project Change and claim management
  • Participate in or manage as applicable the change management including logging, follow up, negotiation as applicable and close out of contract change
  • Formalize and resolve any potential claims Client, Subcontractor and Vendors and manage of the change process;
  • Support formal Extension of Time applications (if necessary)
  • Manage EOT, Guarantee period and Insurance Claims in liaison with Legal
  1. Contract Close
  • Ensure provision of timely notifications to Client/Subcontractor/Vendor as and when required by the Main Contract/Subcontracts/POs and whenever deemed necessary to protect SBM’s rights;
  • Support the Contract/Subcontracts Close Out process.
  1. Reporting
  • Support input for the Cost/Financial and Management Reporting as required.
  • Propose feedback on project issues to Contracts
  • Participate and contribute to improvement and general support to contracts
  • Contract KPIs
  • Cooperation with cost and planning disciplines
  • Support and coordination of Business

JOB REQUIREMENTS

                         Education

  • Degree or MBA in one of the following disciplines (Business Management, Law, Construction Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying).

                        Experience

    • Approximately 7-10 years of experience in contract management, preferably with experience in contracts for marine transportation and offshore support vessels
    • Experience of drafting, negotiating on BIMCO contracts (in particular SUPPLYTIME, TOWCON, TOWHIRE, HEAVYCON, HEAVYLIFTVOY, CONLINEBOOKING).
    • Experience in using BIMCO SmartCon
    • Understanding of marine insurance, including P&I Insurance
    • Experience of both main and subcontract management.
    • Experience in executing contract negotiations and involvement in claims ;
    • Experience within the Oil & Gas and Energy Renewables industries preferred.

                        Personal skills

    • Fluent English (spoken and written) French & Dutch language skills are a plus.
    • Team player
    • Independent and capable of showing initiative
    • Good Contracting skills (i.e. drafting, negotiation)
    • Good communication skills
