Purpose
- As Global Instrument Lead, you are responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficiency of Instrument Systems and Equipment across the company’s operations.
- Your role involves the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Instrument systems and equipment, including but not limited to field inline and offline instrumentation, analyzer, fire and gas detection, automated valve, and metering systems and other related equipment. You work closely with other departments to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- You play a key role in defining strategies for operations and maintenance, monitoring, and design improvement of the Instrument Systems and Equipment.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in the design and operation of Instrument Systems and Equipment for the existing fleet and new builds
- Contribute to the definition of governance processes, tools, and strategies to drive performance.
- Support the definition and implementation of assurance processes.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance programs and schedules.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting to promptly resolve systems and equipment issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
- Participate in defining strategies for obsolescence management and execution of equipment upgrades, replacements, and new installations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams.
- Respond promptly to critical issues by adjusting Instrument settings and configurations, particularly with the ICSS and vendor package equipment such as compressors, turbines, and other major mechanical packages.
- Participate in the definition of the PDM Interface application from early stage, by interfacing with Digital development resources, up to the deployment and maintenance.
- Contribute to the definition of the Instrument Intelligent Agents from early stages (proofs of concepts) to the deployment and maintenance.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in Instrument Systems and Equipment technology and best practices in the industry.
- Support the process of new equipment and new technologies qualifications to ensure their suitability for Operations and Maintenance.
- Lead initiatives to enhance internal capabilities in managing complex Instrument systems, especially analyzers, flow measurement, level applications, fire and gas detections systems, etc.
- Collect and transmit the Lessons Learnt from the operating units to the company’s register and involved departments.
- Support the Supply Chain department defining the technical scope for major equipment maintenance and support contract.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical or Electronics Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the maintenance and management of Instrument Systems and Equipment in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of Instrument Systems and Equipment
- Proficiency in using software for HART enabled Instrument equipment
- Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, especially for Offshore Installations.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and practices.
- Knowledge of obsolescence issues and practices in the industry.
- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise asset management systems.
- Familiarity with Smartplant Instrumentation software in managing Instrument Indexes.
