ROLE PURPOSE
You oversee and enhance corrosion management strategies for the SBM Operating Fleet, ensuring effective processes and tools are in place. You provide expert guidance on corrosion issues, optimize FPSO designs, and train teams to uphold asset integrity and operational safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You develop and improve the Corrosion Management strategy for the SBM Operating Fleet.
- You participate in or lead investigations of material and corrosion issues and support the lead investigator in serious incidents.
- You ensure corrosion management processes and instructions are up to date and align with Risks Based Inspection (RBI) and inspection strategies.
- You provide expertise and recommendations based on corrosion inspection results.
- You lead and champion the Digital Corrosion Monitoring Application (App7) for user adoption and continuous improvement.
- You give feedback to improve FPSO designs and evaluate new technologies to reduce corrosion risks.
- You train and support shorebase/offshore teams in corrosion management strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Corrosion Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil and gas industry, preferable with following additional experience:
- Developing or using corrosion control manuals/documents for operating plants.
- Using Risk Based Inspection methodology.
- Upstream production or refining or petrochemicals.
- Previous experience in central role within the Group.
- Ageing plant onshore/offshore experience is desirable.
- Master in International Codes and Standards related to Materials and corrosion IEN ISO 21457, ISO 15156, NORSOK M-001, NACE, API 581).
