The Head of Data and Information Management is an executive leader accountable for the organization’s data and analytics assets to drive value for business stakeholders.

Must have a good understanding of business objectives and goals, industry domain expertise, and data and analytics knowledge, methods, and techniques.

This role includes creation and management of data and analytics strategy, creation and deployment of processes and practices, execution of related programs driving measurable business outcomes. This role involves developing talent and mature data and analytics culture, building, and evolving technology capabilities around data and analytics.

The Head of Data and Information Management needs to have a broad understanding of strategic data and analytics capabilities, and the ability to communicate these concepts, methods and techniques in ways easily understood by his stakeholders.

Must have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on stakeholder engagement and communication.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Define data and analytics vision, strategy and associated processes and practices.
• Maintain authority for exploiting the value of enterprise information assets, and of analytics used for decision making, automated decisions and company performance improvements.
• Build partnerships with executive leadership to establish the vision for managing data as a business asset, to exploit data and analytics capabilities to maximize business value.
• Organize and chair a data and analytics governance council/committee.
• Foster a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across the company.
• Oversee data-driven innovation.
• Lead data and analytics architecture to optimize the enterprise technology landscape.
• Expand the organization’s research and analytics offerings.
• Oversee data integration and migration programs.
• Deliver and maintain models, processes, standards, and practices.
• Oversee definition, management and promotion of enterprise data and analytics principles, policies and programs for stewardship, advocacy and custodianship of data and analytics, including data quality and interoperability.
• Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to data and analytics assets in collaboration with legal, compliance and quality assurance teams.
• Manage multifunctional and multicultural team.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
• Academic qualification or professional training and experience in legal and regulatory areas.
• 10+ years of business experience, ideally in business management or IT management.
• 10+ years of people management.
• Broad business experience and preferably within the energy industry.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams, multidisciplinary environments across the organization and within complex contexts.
• Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies.
• Experience in designing strategic key performance indicators and scorecards.
