JOB PURPOSE

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will contribute to the development of data-driven solutions within the SBM Offshore Digital Development and Innovation team. You will support data science activities from data preparation to model prototyping, under the supervision of experienced Data Scientists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the development of Data Science applications, including data gathering, data cleaning, data exploration, and preparation of datasets for modeling.
• Contribute to the implementation of data science algorithms and tools, including statistical modeling and machine learning, under guidance.
• Participate in evaluating model performance and contribute to refining models to meet business and technical specifications.
• Support the team in developing visualizations and documentation that clearly explain methodologies and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help improve and maintain in-house tools used for data processing, feature engineering, or model monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with other data scientists to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
• Learn and adopt Agile and DevOps practices, including using tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

•  Currently enrolled in the 4th of a Master's or Engineering program in Data Science/Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/or a related quantitative field
• Solid academic background in statistics, linear algebra, and programming
• Fluent in spoken and written English for effective team communication

• Knowledge in Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, and Matplotlib
• Experience with time series data, forecasting, or signal processing.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and common algorithms
• Familiarity with Git
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
