Job description:

Role Purpose

Responsible for the development of the Category Offshore Facility & Process in view of increasing SBM competitiveness and actively participating to SBM Operations Performance.

In charge of the effective management of strategically important vendors and the efficient global sourcing and maintenance of key equipment.

Ensure operations receive the full benefits of these arrangements by supporting the correct implementation of the procurement strategy on proposals/projects/operations.

Develop long-term collaborative relationships with the strategic vendors and seek to improve vendor performance continually and jointly.

Be a subject matter expert in Water Injection process offshore, Water Treatment and Filtration, Steam Turbines, Boilers.

 

Role Contribution

In order that the Category Strategy meets both company strategic objectives, and future project and operations requirements, the scope and activities to be undertaken by the Category Manager include the following:

develop and Maintain Operations Approved Vendor List

 

Vendor Relationship Management

Develop and foster collaborative partnerships with key vendors for mutual long-term value.

Measure of Effectiveness:  Coordinate and chair steering committee meetings as agreed with relevant internal stakeholders. Follow up on actions from the meetings. Coordinate all activities/initiatives ongoing between the business entities including a forecast of activities as agreed with the relevant stakeholders in order to be aligned with our future business objectives

 

Conduit for Communications

Main conduit for communications with key vendors for strategic category activities.  Performs the role of a central coordinating entity between various involved internal and external stakeholders within SBM Operations.

Measure of Effectiveness:  Ensure a central repository and forecast of all activities/initiatives between SBM Operations and the Vendor is maintained, updated as required and circulated to the relevant stakeholders.

Ensure Vendors have a clear direction on the activities/initiatives and understand the business priorities.

 

Monitor Vendor Performance

Develop and maintain robust and scientific benchmarking data for key packages under the category, to be able to assess vendor proposals and provide direction in negotiation discussions.  Use sound judgment to assess and appraise key vendor performance.

Measure of Effectiveness:  Benchmarking data maintained and circulated as required (Including Risk and opportunity / Price breakdown / Strategic Vendor Capacity monitoring ) .Usage of such benchmarking data during negotiations for key packages

 

Frame Agreements

Assess the need of a Frame Agreement based on a detailed analysis of the set-up and maintenance efforts versus the expected benefit.

Where relevant, coordinate with the relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial long term Frame Agreements (including all aspects such as commercial mechanism, schedule acceleration, quality control, document deliverables, technical design, legal and contractual terms and conditions) for key packages with strategic vendors and continually improve them based on internal feedback.

Measure of Effectiveness: Where relevant, deliver Frame Agreements in line with internally agreed strategies that provide benefits to our business in line with established F4W principles

Ensure the FA’s are utilized on FPSO ‘s and undertake/coordinate feedback and lessons learned sessions with relevant internal and external stakeholders to continually improve the value of the FA’s.

 

Vendor Panel Development

Work with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) and expand vendor panel for key packages with viable alternatives where agreed/required with a view towards risk mitigation on our projects and adding value to our business.  Take ownership of the vendor list for the category and the vendor qualification process for vendors in the category.

Ensure vendor panel development is in line with Product Development strategy

Measure of Effectiveness: Ensure business risk is mitigated in sole source situations for key packages

Ensure vendors who are qualified are also assessed for their performance on our projects

 

Job requirements:

- Engineering Degree

- At least 5 years of experience FPSO Operations offshore

- Experience in Asset integrity for Marine vessels.

- Proven experience in negotiation of frame work agreements

 

Specific skills / expertise / product:

- Familiar with the structural repairs and inspections services for offshore industry

- Familiar with in water and gas treatment

- Familiar with steam turbine and boilers

- Fluent in written and spoken English.

- Ability to travel internationally including offshore.
