MAIN MISSION


This Position
                         

- Reports to: Innovation Portfolio and Projects Manager - Sbm Operations

- Part of : the Operations Excellence department

- Liaises internally with: Project Management, Project control and Cost control teams

MAIN TASKS

 

The mission is related to cost and budget management for Operations Excellence initiatives. The main responsibilities are:

 

  • Organize cost control rules and procedures specific to initiatives, incl. overall portfolio consolidation (cost management procedures, booking structure and rules)
  • Deliver the routine cost reporting (budget, actuals, reforecast) for innovations projects and consolidated portfolio, analyze the results and provide guidance,
  • Ensure coordination with the Cost Control team in central and in the regions,
  • Provide support to budget estimation for new initiatives

 

The detailed activities are:
 

To set-up the Project Cost Control in relation to Operation Excellence initiatives, in line with SBM Internal and project / contractual specific requirements, the main activities are:
 

1.1. Ensure that administrative set-up of project is fully aligned with project needs, internal/external requirements and maintained in a timely manner.

1.2 Establish & Maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure and the associated booking codes / task codes for Operations Excellence portfolio of initiatives.

1.3 Establish & Maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure and the associated booking codes / task codes for specific Client or regional portfolio of initiatives in accordance with the established Project Cost Management Procedures.

1.4 Define/Maintain the Project Cost Management Procedure for Operations Excellence initiatives.

1.5 Define/Maintain the specific Project Cost Management Procedures for specific Client or regional requirements.

 

In order that the Project Cost is well controlled, the main activities are:
 

2.1. Manage and align project cost management requirements in line with the project objectives.

2.2. Challenge financial information to ensure data quality and support decision making.

2.3. Establish/maintain a dedicated and reliable platform (tool / solution) used in the compilation of data.

2.4. Provide financial visibility on actuals to the Project Team to manage the project including taking corrective actions when appropriate.

2.5 Provide Project and Portfolio Cost Reporting both internally and externally including the KPIs on a regular basis.

2.6. Build Operating plan Budget for Operations Excellence initiatives with Project Managers and Portfolio Management Team

2.7 Consolidate overall overview of Operations initiatives budget (approved, actuals and forecast) at global and regional level.

2.8. When specific invoicing is defined with Clients for Initiatives, provide support to the finance team to ensure invoicing is following the specific requirements.

 

In order to have effective interfaces within the Operations Excellence department, finance department and other relevant stakeholders the main activities are:
 

3.1. Work in close cooperation with internal stakeholders within your department

3.2. Ensure good collaboration and alignment with internal stakeholders in SBM Operations Regions (1&2)

3.3. Ensure good collaboration and alignment with SBM Finance & Business control.

3.4. Work in close cooperation with external stakeholders (by building strong and transparent relationship)

 

School/studies/degree: Bachelor’s Degree on related field.
 

Experience: 10 years’ experience in Cost control or Project control
