Purpose

  • As a Quality Excellence Manager reporting to the Global Quality Manager, you are responsible for overseeing 
    and providing quality assurance support in yard and supplier qualification activities, ensuring the effective 
    execution of internal and external audits, offering crucial inputs for project tenders and early proposal stages, 
    and independently supporting critical quality investigations. Your role is crucial in driving continuous 
    improvement within the department, with a particular emphasis on enhancing GEMS compliance, while also 
    actively contributing to broader organizational initiatives. Additionally, this role requires you to effectively 
    integrate and provide quality assurance insights as part of performance monitoring. Your position is essential 
    in promoting quality excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely review of quality assurance documentation for supplier and yard qualifications, meeting 
    required standards and accuracy. Provide strategic feedback to improve documentation processes.
    Manage internal, certification, and qualification audits within GRS.
  • Oversee audit documentation, 
    coordinating with auditees and auditors, and ensure completion of reports and corrective actions.
    Monitor audit status and findings to ensure timely completion
    Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department to enhance performance 
    and efficiency.
  • Define KPIs for excellence activities to analyze performance and drive efficiency
  • Support improvement initiatives across the organization, aligning departmental goals with broader objectives.
  • Lead efforts to ensure GEMS compliance and drive enhancement activities, aligning with organizational needs.
  • Manage and lead independent quality investigations outside of project activities, ensuring thorough analysis and resolution.
  • Report key findings, issues, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights for decision-making.
  • Ensure quality assurance requirements are integrated into tenders and proposals. Oversee the review of related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Promote a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization, facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to address quality issues and drive improvements
  • Oversee the development and delivery of awareness/training programs on quality processes and procedures.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related quality discipline, with a focus on quality management or relevant field.
  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent standard, demonstrating proficiency in auditing quality management systems.

Experience

  • A minimum 10-15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least years in a senior-level role with substantial managerial responsibilities. Proven project experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of Project Management Fundamentals, Engineering principles, lifecycle and assurance processes, and construction processes, including fabrication and special processes.
  • Proven expertise in Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, and ISO/IEC 80079-34, with in-depth knowledge of relevant processes and interfaces. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including quality assurance techniques. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with quality investigation tools and methodologies, including handling investigations of non-conformance and major quality incidents. Well-versed in root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and corrective action/preventive action (CAPA).
  • Strong knowledge in welding, coating, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), preservation, and Ex (explosive atmospheres). Relevant certifications are an added advantage.
