Purpose
- The Sales Manager leads the commercial aspects of one or multiple prospects, ensuring they align with SBM's business objectives and maximize profitability. This involves negotiating contracts, assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute commercial strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
- Ensure adherence to legal standards and company policies in all commercial dealings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment and clarity on project requirements and expectations.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial risks associated with potential projects, ensuring all risks are documented and addressed in proposals.
- Perform financial analysis to support bid decisions, including return on investment (ROI) calculations and profitability assessments.
- Maintain thorough records of all pre-award activities, including bid documents, correspondence, and negotiation outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Deliver offers as per the Sales process making sure all gates are properly/duly executed in line with governance in place.
- Lead and mentor a team of bid and proposal professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and suggest necessary adjustments in SBM process.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in a project management, role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and complex contracts or strong experience in proposals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
