ROLE PURPOSE

 

1.Supporting the WIN phase of the business, the Yard Framing Commercial Analyst verifies, interrogates, challenges, safekeeps and reports fit for purpose yard commercial data in a clear and concise manner. This continuous and harmonized effort provides visibility to the business by ensuring the robustness of the commercial models adopted with Construction Yards, ultimately allowing to maximize the competitiveness by a sound analytical approach.

 

2.Reviewing Yard Bills of Quantities generated by Estimating department by seeking support from on-site Quantity-Surveyors (QS) to seek technical expertise and as-built feedback.

 

Providing support to the various Product Lines (FPSO, Turret, Terminal) and non-project based departments whilst ensuring compliance requirements are upheld.

 

  • Develop commercial evaluations of yard tenders, on unit rate basis.
  • Evaluate the missing elements of a proposal, including ‘Exceptions and Qualifications’.
  • Develop internal and external presentations of the commercials received to stakeholders
  • Visit Yards to understand the basis of offers, and lead external commercial clarification meetings to challenge offers with a fact based approach.
  • Commercial audit of prospective yards.
  • Establish historical commercial benchmarks and KPI’s.
  • Populate commercial lessons learned.
  • Provide guidance on monetization of execution plans.
  • Support the development of a fit for purpose digital tool and workflow.
     

Job requirements

 

School/studies/degree:

  • Min diploma in any Engineering discipline

 

Experience:

  • Proven experience required in disciplines such as EPC Tender Management, Contract Management (re-measurement and lump sum orientated), Business Development, Vendor/Supplier/Client/Yard Relationship Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, Estimating, Proposals, Procurement.
  • Candidate must be well-versed in commercial analytical techniques with an ability to relay this into succinct written and graphical reports.
  • Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office is required to the highest level
  • Experience with floaters is preferred.
  • Familiar with Steelwork, Pipework, Coating, E&I and Mechanical disciplines.

  • Resourceful, pro-active and able to work with the greatest respect in a multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong skills in the manipulation and analysis of large amount of commercial data, rates, in different units and different revisions.
  • Strong ability to concisely report the added value of a dataset in a very synthetic manner.
  • Strong ability to develop visually appealing reports with impactful graphics, figures and storytelling, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong ability to orally present a report to an audience.
  • Expert in the use of Excel advanced features, pivot, slicers, datasets, name manager.
  • Skilled in the design of PowerBi dashboards or eye-pleasing reports.
  • Able to propose and support the design of a suitable and sustainable data architecture.
  • Able to ideate, propose and lead the development of a new digital solution to manage the commercial data.
  • Curious with a technical appetite to learn every day, to challenge, and to understand the technical drivers behind each data point.
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, meticulous, and able to follow through on tasks from start to completion.
  • Ability to assess gaps, analyse situations and determine next course of action.
  • Multicultural team player with good communication skills.
