CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR – GRAN MORGU
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Background: - Is capable of operating DCS, Fire and Gas and ESD systems from Central Control Room. - Optimizes the process, reduces and control plant upsets.
- Responds effectively to emergencies.
- Ensures that plant inhibits, and overrides are controlled as per procedures and Management System guidelines.
- Ensures that personnel under his supervision are fully competent and aware of their responsibilities.
Authority: Is authorized to control and adjust the automated process safely to maximize production efficiency, and to coordinate permits and related isolations for maintenance.
Immediate Subordinates: Lead Production Technician, Production Technicians, Subcontractors, Vendors, Visitors.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
Process
- Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems.
- Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
- Compare sample and testing results (API / BS&W / salinity) of process and utility fluids to optimal.
- Trouble shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
- Maintain discharged water quality within current O&M Contractor Operations or local guidelines.
- Monitor and operate electrical / hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.
- Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company and client.
- Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
- Prove export oil meters
Marine / Safety
- Implementing and enforcing Management System policies and procedures, in particular Isolation Standards, and PTW.
- Carry out all operations in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries and incidents, immediately.
- Ensure personnel understand and comply with current environmental regulations.
- Carry out Emergency Response role
Maintenance
- Assist maintenance operations by applying / removing isolations as required.
- Supervise operation of the PTW system.
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
- Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations..
Manage and Supervise Effectively
- Establish effective relationships with colleagues and subcontractors.
- Establish scope of work clearly (briefings, toolbox talks, presentations.)
- Plan and control use of resources effectively (Personnel, time, materials, transport, IT).
- Promote training and competency assurance throughout the department in line with Company goals for the Unit.
- Encourage and support all department personnel to achieve training and competency targets and plan for appropriate time allocation for this area of work.
- Use of communication skills shows leadership (oral, teambuilding, recording, noting, handover, analyzing.
- Objective and consistent in assessment and appraisal of subordinates and subcontractors.
- Make recommendations and improvements in working practices for greater safety, efficiency and profitability.
Emergency Response
- Carry Out Emergency Response role (See Station Bill).
- Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 4 years’ experience in Hydrocarbon processing operations with 1 year as Central Control Room Operator and an appropriate mix of operational and supervisory experience.
- Offshore Personal Survival, Management of Major Emergencies, Medical certificates.
- Good level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge including interpretation of P&IDs and C&E charts.
- Extensive knowledge of offshore FPSO operations, including Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Safety.
- Good working Knowledge of DCS and F&G systems operation.
- Proficiency in English at a minimum of A2 level according to the CEFR international standard.
- Medically fit according to the Company GEMS ‘Health Requirements to Work Offshore’ Instruction.
