Description: 

Purpose

  • The Operations Security Specialist ensures prevention and mitigation of Security Risks to personnel, assets, environment and company reputation.
  • You also ensure compliance with all standards, rules and other requirements from the Company, Regulators, Clients.
  • Your role is primarily focused on setting up controls, providing ad hoc support and auditing the application of the agreed governance for the security of the workforce in the country

Responsibilities

  • You perform annual Country Security Risk Assessments (interfacing with regulatory bodies, and law enforcement agencies) for in-country analyses of threats, risks, and maritime security.
  • You analyze in-country gathered information and recommend appropriate action to executive management.
  • You establish working relationships with clients' security, local, state, and government law enforcement agencies.
  • You interact with security organizations outside of SBM’s network for benchmarking purposes.
  • You contribute to security training, briefings, risk management/assessments.
  • You interact with all employees to keep them informed and aware of best security practices.
  • You participate in incident management, including Country Emergency Response Planning for lockdowns, evacuations.
  • You support Group Security on internal investigations of security breaches, fraud, theft, business/ethical violations to ensure the protection of SBM’s assets, reputation, and integrity.
  • You conduct security internal and external verifications/surveys/audits and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are identified and effectively implemented.
  • You actively contribute to the deployment of security awareness training programs and communication campaigns.
  • You conduct and support security inspections of hotels, residences, warehouses, or other locations as required by SBM in the assigned region.
  • You support the implementation of travel procedures and the driving Safe Program to ensure the safety of SBM employees during travel.

Education

  • Minimum of Bachelor´s Degree in a Security Management or HSSE related field.
  • Applicable Certifications such as First Aid, Situational Awareness, Physical Security (Certified Protection Officer (CPO)), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or Physical Security Professional (PSP)) would be a benefit.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of operational experience in either the military or Police, or in a similar position, with at least two (2) years in a Supervisory role.
  • Proven experience as a security professional, with a strong understanding of security operations and management.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements related to security.
  • Experience and knowledge in people and process management within a security context.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
