Purpose
- As Fleet Training & Competency Manager, you are responsible for the timely implementation and management of the Competence Assurance Standard for the nominated projects/vessel (s). The primary focus of this role is to ensure that Operations and Operation Readiness personnel possess the required behaviours, knowledge, and skills to execute their roles effectively when entering operations, contributing to the safe and efficient operations of the FPSO.
Responsibilities
- You manage the Training and Competency Department team, allocate resources to projects, and maintain the planning of Operations instructors.
- You define and develop new competence assessment tables for new competencies within the approved competency framework.
- You execute the Competency Assessment Program, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring other discipline experts are called upon as needed.
- You lever digital tools and technology to create a streamlined and efficient program execution and explore and integrate digital platforms for competency tracking, data analysis, and reporting.
- You review and enhance the program based on feedback and evolving project needs, identifying opportunities to automate aspects of the assessment process.
- You manage and develop non-standard programs, collect and analyze data from competency assessments, and reporting on T &C status across all projects/regions.
- You collaborate with training teams to identify training needs, provide recommendations for development plans, coordinate with training providers, propose to remove or replace obsolete trainings, and support facility-specific trainings.
- To ensure a stakeholder engagement you liaise with Operations Readiness Managers, Operations Managers, OIMs, department heads, and clients to implement and drive the Competency Assessment program
- You provide regular updates on progress, address stakeholder queries, and participate in audits leading up to first oil when required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- STCW COC as Chief Engineer or Master Mariner may serve as alternative
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of offshore experience some of which should be covering an instructor / assessor type of experience.
- Proven track record of implementing or executing competency assessment programs, preferably in a digitalized environment.
- Familiarity with competency frameworks, industry standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital tools and software for program development, data analysis, and reporting.
